Postpartum Doula Support
What is a postpartum doula? What can they do that granny maybe can’t?
I’ll be honest - I remember saying to a friend before having my own baby, “Ah, you don’t need a postpartum doula - your mum will be around loads!”
Wrong! Jeez, how wrong I was.
After having my first baby (which involved a decent stint in hospital postpartum - hello, bland beige food), I felt totally wrung out, spaced out, and like I’d been hit by a bus. I had spent so much time preparing for labour and birth, but honestly, I hadn’t thought much about what happens after.
Sure, my family were around. But it was the first grandchild, and truthfully, it felt like they mostly just wanted to hold the baby.
So, it took me a good while to pick up the pieces. I went headfirst into a stressed, foggy postpartum - breastfeeding round the clock, completely depleted, and wildly undernourished.
That whole experience was a big learning. I knew there had to be a better way. The second time round would be different.
So, I threw myself into doula training - and something in me truly came alive. Learning and talking about all things postpartum made me realise: THIS is what women truly need. Support. Nourishment. Bodywork. Witnessing. We’ve lost so much along the way - and it’s time to reclaim it.
And that second time round with my second baby? Completely different.
Having a well-planned and properly supported postpartum was a wildly different experience. I felt held, cared for, and able to actually rest and recover. It was everything I craved the first time - and it confirmed just how powerful this kind of support can be.
So that’s what I’m here to offer you.
I’ve created a series of postpartum packages that are all about holding you. Whether you need nourishing meals, some grounding expert bodywork, help at home or someone to be fully present with you in those raw, blurry days - I’m here for all of that.
This isn’t about swooping in to take over. It’s about walking alongside you, seeing you, and making sure you are cared for - not just the baby.
Because honestly? That’s what every new mother deserves.
